Schneider iC60 Circuit Breakers
IC60 miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) are part of the Acti9 range from Schneider Electric. This complete range of…
What are the key features of the IC60 circuit breaker?
With its exceptional service life and unmatched industrial performance, the IC60 miniature circuit-breaker stands as the leading product in the Acti9 range, offering absolute safety and improved continuity of service.
IC60, thermal-magnetic circuit breaker
The IC60 circuit breaker combines two protection technologies: magnetic for short circuits and thermal for electrical overloads.
IC60, multi-standard circuit breaker
The IC60 is known as a multi-standard circuit-breaker (NF C 15-100, IEC/EN 60947-2 and EN/IEC 60898-1) because it combines:
- Thermal magnetic protection of electrical circuits,
- Fully visible isolation indication - mandatory in the industrial sector,
- Fault trip signalling via a red mechanical status indicator on the front face (VISI-TRIP window).
What types of applications is the IC60 range suitable for?
Low-voltage final distribution
- Protection of electrical circuits in all industrial and commercial buildings
- All applications, particularly in polluted environments and installations with high inrush currents
- Protection of electronic circuits
IC60 Reflex, the all-in-one 3-function circuit-breaker
In one device, this modular circuit-breaker with integrated control combines remote control functions (maintained and/or pulse command), circuit-breaker functions to protect circuits against short-circuit currents and overload currents, and an isolating switch function for the industrial sector.
IC60, 5 trip curves for all applications
Whatever your use, the IC60 circuit-breaker is available with 5 trip curves:
- Curve C: for general applications (tripping threshold 8 In +/- 20%)
- Curve B: for electrical circuits with long cables (tripping threshold 4 In +/- 20 %)
- Curves D and K: for circuits with high inrush currents (tripping threshold 12 In +/- 20%)
- Curve Z: for control and protection of electronic circuits (tripping threshold 3 In +/- 20%)
IC60 and the number of poles
The IC60 circuit-breaker is available in single-pole (1P), single-pole + neutral (1P+N), double-pole (2P), three-pole (3P) or four-pole (4P) versions to suit all applications. Good to know: a 4P circuit-breaker, monitors all 4 poles and disconnects all 4 poles when tripped (4 poles disconnected and protected), whereas a 1P + N circuit-breaker monitors the current to 1 pole and disconnects all 2 poles when tripped (2 poles disconnected, 1 pole protected). Don't hesitate to ask a one-elec advisor to help you choose the right circuit breaker!
IC60, 3 models according to breaking capacity
The breaking capacity of an IC60 circuit breaker ranges from 10 kA to 100 kA. But make sure you select the right model. There are 3 different models: IC60N, IC60H and IC60L. For each one, depending on the number of poles and the operating voltage, the Ics (service short-circuit breaking capacity) are different. For example, for an operating voltage of 380 to 415 VAC:
Model IC60N IC60H IC60L
Rating 6 - 63A 6 - 63A 50 - 63A
Ics 10 kA 15 kA 15 kA
IC60, additional characteristics
The IC60 circuit-breaker is available in 15 different ratings from 0.5 A to 63 A depending on the number of poles. The operating voltage available is up to 440 VAC, for an insulation voltage of 500 V and a pollution degree of level 3.
How do I check the IC60 circuit breaker is operating correctly?
The IC60 circuit breaker has a trip indicator on the front panel. This is a red mechanical status light which shows that the circuit-breaker has tripped on a fault. The Visi-Trip window technology by Schneider Electric allows for instant detection of faulty circuit breakers in electrical panels.
IC60 circuit-breaker references
You'll find no fewer than 500 One-Elec references to meet most of your professional needs. All ratings, all tripping curves, all poles…the IC60N-H-L circuit breakers are in stock and available.
Optional auxiliaries for Acti9 IC60
To complete the IC60 circuit-breaker range, consider adding an earth leakage switch. Enhance electrical installation protection in commercial and industrial buildings AND residual current protection complying with standard EN 61009-1 by adding an Acti9 Vigi IC60 modular residual current device to an existing circuit breaker. Acti9 also offers a range of IC60-compatible mounting and fixing accessories: combs, connectors, end caps, terminal shields, rotary handles, etc.
