How to choose a modular electrical enclosure
Electrical enclosures are used in the commercial sector. While the protection and control goals are the same, their sizes vary. There is a wide range on offer and many factors to consider, in particular, compliance with the NF C15-100, the reference standard in France. Nonetheless, there are 6 important aspects to consider when selecting an electrical enclosure or cabinet:
- The type of fixing element (mounted on a DIN rail or plate)
- The number of circuits to be protected and the reserve for upgrades
- Indoor or outdoor location (swimming pool enclosures, for example)
- Modular build yourself, or ready assembled e.g. enclosures for building sites
- Plastic or metal
- Wall-mounted or floor-standing
Whether you are a shop, a hotel, a restaurant, a supermarket or an administrative building, these 6 major criteria determine the size and type of enclosure to be installed.
Another criterion to consider is the board's aesthetics. Depending on where it's installed, it can be adapted to your customers' needs, such as the choice of a solid or transparent door, for example.
