The Resi9 enclosures from Schneider Electric, available in several sizes (13, 18, 24 modules) or in an IP65 version, are designed to blend harmoniously into any interior. These enclosures are part of Schneider Electric's 9 Series range, renowned for its reliability and quality.
Legrand Drivia enclosures offer an ideal solution for efficient electrical distribution. For example, the 3-row, 13-module enclosure (500x250x103.5 mm) comes with IP2X self-connecting terminal blocks for protective conductors, separable blanking plugs per module and half-module, and pre-fixing accessories for installation on GTL trunking or wall.
What are modules and rows in electrical consumer units ?
Modules correspond to the size of the devices installed in the switchboard, such as circuit breakers and earth leakage switches. The number of rows in a residential switchboard determines the number of horizontal levels available for installing modules.
For example, a 2-row switchboard is suitable for homes of less than 35 m² (T1 or T2), offering two levels for the modules. For homes between 35 and 100 m² (T2 to T4), a 3-row panel is recommended, allowing three levels of modules to be installed. Finally, for homes of over 100 m² (T5 and above), we recommend using a panel with 4 or more rows, offering complete electrical distribution.
Should I choose a built-in or surface-mounted box?
There are several advantages to choosing a flush-mounted box. They blend into the wall, offering a more aesthetic and discreet solution, ideal for environments where appearance is important, such as offices or commercial spaces. Unlike surface-mounted enclosures, also known as exposed enclosures, flush-mounted enclosures do not need to be cut into the wall, which simplifies installation and eliminates the need for re-plastering. What's more, they can be used to replace an old, existing enclosure without the need to run new cables, laying directly on the wall and making it easier to connect electrical outlets. In short, residential electrical boxes offer a variety of options to meet the specific needs of each home.
